Submit ManuscriptAbout the New York International Law Review
The New York International Law Review (NYILR) is published in conjunction with the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) International Section. Since its founding thirty years ago, the NYILR has been edited by St. John’s University School of Law 2L and 3L student staff members.
We publish two issues a year, and our issues include cases and topics of international law that are critical for scholars and practitioners, not only in the New York area, but around the world.
Submission Guidelines
The New York International Law Review strongly prefers articles under 25,000 words in length (the equivalent of 50 law review pages) including text and footnotes. Please note that an article in excess of 30,000 words (the equivalent of 60 law review pages) will weigh significantly against selection.
Final submissions should be in Word format, 12 point and Times New Roman font, and double spaced.
Upon submission of your piece, please upload your current CV/Resume, as well.
Please use footnotes rather than endnotes. Footnotes should conform to the 22nd edition of The Bluebook.
**Author Involvement and Editing Process **
Submissions to the New York International Law Review are reviewed by Executive Articles Editors of the St. John’s University School of Law editorial board, who then transmit submitted manuscripts to the editorial board at the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA). All articles proposed for publication are subject to final approval by the NYSBA editorial board and Editor-in-Chief, Kristopher Peters.
The New York International Law Review makes every effort to keep authors well informed throughout the publication process. Authors will be assigned to an Executive Articles Editor, who will be your main point of contact with the NYILR. Your assigned Executive Articles Editor will oversee the editing process of your piece, and ensure that our staff members meet all deadlines in providing both technical and substantive edits to your piece. These proposed edits will also be transmitted back to you through your assigned Executive Articles Editor.
